Evening Dune Breeze

It was dusk and 105 degrees still on the dunes at Death Valley. A smoky haze loomed in the distance. A drying breeze washed across the dunes on this summer evening, making me wish I had brought two more water bottles. More sensible photographers would not have been there.

Forgotten Memories

This soaptree yucca creates designs in the sand as soft winds blow its lower spears from side to side. But stronger winds soon erase these memories, smoothing out the sand for a new start. In life it takes a bit more effort to wipe away old memories to start afresh. But standing firmly as this yucca can result in that new start to renew spirit and soul.
