SALT FLAT SUNSET

This is an early blue hour photograph from a location where we took our workshop participants in April. Each year these formations may be found in various spots in the vast salt flats of Death Valley.

Salt Flat Sunset

The ridges of the polygons are formed from the salts that rise to the surface from salty underground convection forces. Nature does a pretty good job of balancing sizes of the polygons and lengths of their sides creating striking patterns.
