PRINTING SERVICES

Custom printing is available to Prescott area photographers and other photographer friends. And, yes, I can even print quality smartphone photos! I do not operate a photo print lab, but am willing to use my printer to help others get small jobs done right at a reasonable cost. I also waste less ink if I keep my printer active. So for your very best work forget the cra99y stuff that Costco does and give me a try!

I use a Canon Imageprograf Pro-300 with nine inks and a optimizer coating. My standard paper is Hahnemühle Fine Art Pearl 320 gsm cotton rag. This is a premium paper. if you want me to use another paper, please call and arrange. Generally, I would require a minimum of 10 prints to justify the addition of a second paper.

It is possible that I might be available to get something done for your urgent situation. Call or text me to find out about my time availability. It's also possible that I am traveling or have too much work, so contact me before proceeding with a time sensitive order. I charge a 50% premium to get prints the next day.

Packaging and postage is not automatically charged, so if you require it, return order it separately. If you need prints mailed, the fees are as follows:

2nd Day Express Mail - $20.            Next Day when possible - $40

Tell me what size you want. If you are using pre-cut mat boards, they usually are cut to cover 1/4" of all edges of your prints. If you want me to cut mats for you, specify whether you want 1/4" of the mat covering the edges of the print or 3/8" or more/less of the white print border showing. 

What to expect...

Once you have put in an order, I will put in a Dropbox upload request for you. You will receive an email with a link on how to do the upload. This may take anywhere from an hour or so if I am at the computer to a couple of days if I am traveling. I can put in requests while on the road and sometimes can review images if I am on the road. If you are local, a good alternative is to meet when we can review images together and transfer them directly to my computer.

ABOUT MAT BOARDS

My print service only includes mat boards when they are ordered separately. I only offer an off-white, 4-ply, archival mat board. I do not do double mats. Mats are usually Bainbridge but there have been times when I have ordered other manufactures' boards due to supply availability. Currently, this has a very slight cream tint (lighter than web appearance). If available again I will order "photo white" which has slightly less cream color to it.

I hand cut my mat boards, so you will not see perfectly clean edges as you might with non-rag boards and machine cuts. Please understand this is what you will be getting.

After you click on the size mat(s) you want to order, a text box appears. You must write in the border size you want around your print. If you want a larger border on the bottom edge, please specify this separately.

Example: When I print my own 10x15 prints, they are actually 9.5" x 14.25" which keeps the 2:3 aspect ratio. I cut my mats 3/8" outside this size so the print margins show with a approximate 3/8" border on all sides. This is where I hand write the name of the print and my signature. Most artists don't do it this way. For example, you may choose to write the name of the print on the mat and sign over the print. 

Also specify whether you want me to mount the print to the mat and attach the mat to the Foamcore. White framers tape is used with a hinge mounting technique. You will be able to lift the mat off the lower part of your images to sign the images if you wish, but it is easier to do the signing if the prints are not mounted. If you mess up any signing I will reprint at half price. 

I do not adhesive mount prints.
