Slot Canyon & Ice Cave Photographs

The hot colors of slot canyons are a perfect way to splash accent colors on a living room wall or to bring up the temperature of a bedroom. The slot canyon images are mostly from Arizona. Spend some time with an image and it may come alive. Just a slight change in camera position can make a tremendous difference in what is captured and what you see. The slot canyon images compliment each other very well displayed in pairs or as a triptych. Some of the images work well cropped for tall, narrow spaces. Slot canyons nearly always have sand along their bases, but this small location had sandstone at the base. The name of the image is based on the deep wine color and the movie we were watching as I put finishing touches on the image.

We watched snow stream through an opening in the roof of this Icelandic ice cave, resulting in the cone formation in the foreground.
