Burning Off

The morning fog burns off in a redwood forest.

Rhodie Show

Wild rhododendrons enter the scene proudly in front of redwoods.

Forest Fantasy

Two mossy stems appear to be tossing their leaves into the air in a foggy forest.

The Shed

This old shed in The Palouse and the wheat field in the distance are at the end of their seasons. The wheat field will grow afresh, but the shed will eventually fall and then rot. Perhaps it will be memorialized in barnwood picture frames.

Field Oak

This magnificent oak tree sits amidst wheat fields in the Palouse in eastern Washington. Sunlight streaks through the limbs and casts shadows on the foreground.

Redwoods & The Misfit

Three stately redwoods are contrasted with a nearby skeletal tree.

Creekside Cedars

Two large cedars gather light into the forest along a mountain stream.

Barrels o' Fun

Desert scene with barrel cactus in the foreground and brittlebush on the hills in the distance.

Higher than the Sky

Saguaros are the "stately" cacti of Arizona. The can live 200 years or more and grow to 70 feet tall. Saguaros and sunsets seem to go together better than cookies and cream!

Recomposing

The carcass of an old redwood stands against a foggy backdrop of new growth. The beauty of decomposition is better described as the beauty of recomposition.

Maple Forest

Maple saplings grow among an old growth forest along the West Fork of Oak Creek, near Sedona

Forest Fruits

Aspens with bright citrus colors light up under afternoon sun in Colorado's San Juan Mountains.

Dancin' Aspens

These aspen trees appear to be dancing to the same rhythm. There shape is the result of an avalanche that tilts sapling sidewards, followed by the trees' natural growth toward sunlight.

Sunday Drive

Can you imagine a Model T full of a family going for a drive after church? This image brings that vision as fall colors signal the fading of another year.

Aspen Forest

A painterly scene of aspens as they don their fall colors. Perfect as a centerpiece of to compliment colors in your decor.

Lollipop Mountain

Like sugary candies atop thin sticks, the bright autumn leaves of aspen trees contrast with the spindly trunks.

One for the Rhodies

Rhododendron blossoms are set against the base of a California redwood.
