The single supplement is required. If you are willing to share a room, there are two more spots.
Join Rob Strain to visit many of the top vistas on both the South Rim and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. We will be hitting the best spots during prime monsoon season. We are likely to experience the exciting action generated by monsoon storms interacting with this giant hole in the ground. On our travel between the rims we will have a chance to photograph world famous Horseshoe Bend and we will learn how to capture hand held wall hangers at Antelope Canyon. Composition, camera and post processing techniques will be taught between shooting sessions. Housing will be at the Rim to minimize travel time at the beginning and end of each day. A variety of exceptional meals are included.
The schedule is always subject to change as we seek out the best locations to capture rapidly building and moving thunderstorms.
We meet up in the afternoon for light appetizers and an early dinner as we get acquainted. We will be sure to head for the Rim for a sunset shoot.
We will shoot at the Rim for sunrise before joining each other for a good breakfast and instructional session which will concentrate on composition and camera techniques. This is the day we are most likely to take the shuttle to a couple of the best locations along Hermit's Rest Road. Dinner will be planned around the weather.
The morning will include a sunrise shoot followed by an instructional session. Our afternoon will be along Desert Drive as we locate the best viewpoints for dramatic sky action.
This will be an active day that is likely to produce stunning results. We make the one hour drive to Horseshoe Bend to catch sunrise. After breakfast we will tour a portion of world famous Antelope Canyon where you will learn that you can hand hold for exceptionally high quality images (using techniques you are taught). We will drive to the North Rim, stopping for a great lunch along the way. There will be time for a late afternoon/evening shoot with the goal of capturing lightning bolts over the canyon.
We will head to Cape Royal for a glorious sunrise. After a hearty breakfast back at the lodge we will have time for a rest and post-processing session prior to heading out to the most promising vistas for dramatic light and sky action in the afternoon and evening.
Our final morning will include a shoot at nearby Bright Angel Point. We will discuss our successes and finish up over a hearty buffet breakfast at the lodge before you head back to a more ordinary life.

Whenever possible we have two full meals each day and plenty snacks available in between. For example, coffee, fruit, bars and muffins are usually available before we head out in the morning. An ample breakfast is typically around 9 or 10 am. A full lunch or dinner is around 3-4 pm, but this depends on the skies which will take priority. Late dinners are possible, but most of the suitable restaurants close down shortly after sunset. There will always be ample snacks in the evening and during post processing sessions.
