Photographing Namibia

Namibia is a unique desert country along the southern portion of the west coast of Africa. It offers outstanding photographic opportunities, especially including the Quiver Tree Forest, the Kolmanskop Ghost Town, Deadvlei with its dead trees set against giant orange sand dunes, and Walvis Bay with sand dunes reaching to the ocean. The Himba tribe lives under dark night skies and with little water near Spitzkoppe, a sharp rocky prominence in the center of this dry land. To the north are many game preserves and the immense Etosha National Park.
